Loveland Projects

Since the late summer of 2022, I have been making collaborative photo work at Loveland Community Field. Covering eight acres in Penryn, Cornwall, Loveland is a beautiful space where people come together to work the land, create art, grow and eat good food.

The field is leased by the Falmouth Food Co-Operative.

Stories from the Field

Loveland: Stories from the field is a collection of photographs (both analogue and digital) and writing taking the form of a limited-run community newspaper.

The paper comments on seasonality, food sovereignty, community wealth and resilience and adaptation to climate breakdown.

It brings together work that I’ve created at Loveland between August 2022 and April 2023, alongside community contributions of illustrations, writing and architectural design.

Printed on 55gsm improved newsprint, the paper has been produced and distributed with assistance from the Falmouth Food Co-Operative, Carbon Gallery Penryn and the local community.

Soundscape

During several early mornings and some volunteer days between March and May 2023 I recorded a soundscape at Loveland. This track accompanies the newspaper when the work is exhibited.

If you’re in need of a dose of calming birdsong and sounds of the land a thirty minute looped version can be listened to on Soundcloud.
