George Steedman Jones (he/him) is a freelance photographer, self-shooting filmmaker and video editor based in Cornwall, working with local communities and organisations to guide their creative visions.
From fast-paced event photography and video to sensitively curated environmental portraits and inspiring documentary stories, George specialises in the sustainable food, charity and culture sectors.
Fuelled by a life-long love for creative storytelling George has worked for a range of commercial and creative clients. Whether it’s from a lecture hall or a rain-soaked field he’s passionate about telling the stories that matter.
As an experienced crew member both as part of dynamic teams and leading solo projects George works across a range of disciplines. Primarily working as a camera operator he uses Panasonic, Sony and Canon systems. He is a CAA licensed drone operator and an experienced self-taught video editor, utilising multiple editing suites to stitch the finished story together.
George received a BA in Marine and Natural History Photography from Falmouth University in 2023, where he honed his skills both as a photographer, filmmaker and community facilitator. When he’s not behind the camera he’s researching community visual media and applying this learning to climate-resilient food systems.
His personal research explores the intersections between photo ethics and consent, accessable photography and ecological education. He works with organisations such as HERO and Blueprint in Falmouth to elevate his work beyond commercial media production.
In his spare time George dabbles in field recording, enjoys tinkering with old bicycles and cameras and loves coffee so much he’s actually turned it into a hobby: his popular science and nature podcast Coffee with Conservationists.
