I’m a Cornwall-based freelance photographer and film maker. My artistic practice is rooted in the urban and rural community landscapes of a childhood spent in nature.
I use a range of digital, analogue and alternative techniques to tell engaging documentary stories; creating work centering around local, positive stories, deep human-earth interconnections and environmental activism.
My work as a documentarian is in a constant state of flux, but remains true to the values of: community, ethics, subject participation and growth. Open and collaborative, I aim to create socially engaged work wherever possible, and I seek to form long lasting connections through my work with people, community spaces and organisations.

As a keen arts researcher, I often explore many aspects of my own cultural surroundings. I see local connections as a vital part of ethical photography. Living in Cornwall, I aim to immerse myself in the local environment, specifically through the integration of Cornish (Kernewek) into locally produced projects.
Flowing between true documentary and creative narrative, I often use writing to accompany images. Words have a different power to the visual image, and they are an important accompaniment to my projects. My longer-form writing work can be read on my Substack, ‘Murmuration’.

As well as personal creative work, I freelance to a wide variety of commercial clients. I specialise in environmental image and film, but I also offer headshots, event photography, remote editing and much more. As well as nature based commissions, I also work with local community groups, charities, artists and makers.

My commercial work holds true to my values and personal ethics. A full list of services, past clients and latest work can be found here

As well as my visual work, I also host a podcast, Coffee with Conservationists, which has reached a wide audience and received a glowing review published in BBC Wildlife Magazine (in print and online).

I work out of Truro city centre in Cornwall and I’m available for work across the UK. To talk more about your project and discuss my availablity and rates, please get in touch.
