The magical thing about the marshes is you feel like you’re so far outside of London, but you’re just a fifteen minute walk away. I’m a photographer and I love shooting people here because again, you can create really natural portraits of people but it’s very easy to access.
I think with any development there is a lot of power dynamics involved. Certain communities have power over others because of inequalities and intersections of privilege. There’s a different class dynamic in each situation and that feeds into the amount of time people have to protest a development.
