I started doing this walk daily through Walthamstow Wetlands when the pandemic started. Because I used to swim, and of course I suddenly couldn’t do that. These wetlands are a really amazing amenity to have, especially this close to the centre. We’ve had visitors come down from Scotland, where me and my wife both hail from, and they can’t believe there’s so much open space and access to greenery so close to London’s centre.

I have mixed feelings about the developments here. I know people need places to live, but I’d rather it was fully-funded social housing. I’d rather there was fair access to this. But that’s not where we are at the moment.
