George Steedman Jones

Hi, I’m George. 

I’m a freelance photographer, self-shooting filmmaker and video editor, working with local communities and organisations to guide their creative visions. I specialise in the sustainable food, charity and culture sectors and whether I’m in a lecture hall or a mud-soaked field I’m passionate about telling stories that matter. 

Photographer

With over half a decade of experience as a professional photography, I work across a range of disciplines; from sensitively curated 1-1 portraits to engaging event images and documentary photo-stories. 

Filmmaker

As a self-shooting videographer I direct, produce, film and edit engaging and inspiring films. As a camera operator both as part of dynamic teams and leading solo projects I work with a wide variety of camera and audio systems. I’m a also a CAA licenced drone operator using DJI UAV systems to gain unique perspectives. 

Video Editor

As a self-taught video editor I’m experienced in the use of Adobe Premiere Pro and Final Cut Pro. I edit both long-form promotional and narrative films as well as short-form content for use on platforms such as Instagram, TikTok and YouTube. 

Collaborator

I’m often brought onto existing teams as a second camera operator or camera assistant. If required for larger projects, I can coordinate specialist crews including camera assistants, gaffers, sound recordists and location marshalls. 

Podcaster

As well as my visual work, I also host a podcast, Coffee with Conservationists, which has reached a wide audience and received a glowing review published in BBC Wildlife Magazine (in print and online).
